About This Course

This course will help Treasury Board members learn more about what strikes are, how they work and where they fit in bargaining process.

We will look at how strikes can make major gains for workers and highlight two PSAC strikes that our members waged and won during the Covid-19 pandemic. We will explore the basic structure of strikes at PSAC and some strike logistics, including strike pay and essential services. And we’ll examine what you can do right now to ensure we win better working conditions and better pay in this round of collective bargaining.

Course Level

Basic - Basic Courses are open to all PSAC members. They introduce a topic. There are no prerequisite courses and learners do not require any previous knowledge or experience in the subject. The knowledge and skills learners gain will prepare them to participate in our union and to take further education.
